Monika Roch began her involvement with the Victoria Soccer Club in 1970 when she first became a member under her parent’s family membership. Elected board secretary in 1973, she has served in that capacity for most of the last 45 years. She was secretary for the Victoria Bowling League for more than 20 years, both under the Victoria banner and later under the German Canadian Cultural Association banner when the two (2) leagues merged. From 1999, Monika was secretary to the German Canadian Association of Alberta (GCAA) for 14 years. In 2013 she received the GCAA Volunteer Achievement Award.

Monika worked for 35 years in various departments of the provincial government, most of that time as a telecommunications administrator. In 2007 she was awarded the Gold Premier’s Award of Excellence for her work on the Supernet Project.

Being President of this venerable organization is an both an honour and a privilege and Monika is looking forward to serving it with distinction.
